Companion Animal Matchups with HHS:
The Hinsdale Humane Society Veterans and Pets Program offers a direct Companion Animal Matchup to Veterans looking to be matched with a companion pet that fits the qualities they are looking for in their next pet. Our Pet Therapy Program Manager and Trainer will connect with you and discuss what you’re looking for in a companion animal. Our Trainer and Animal Care team will vet through our animals based on your requirements to find that perfect companion match up. Companion animals will be a minimum of 2 years old and be cleared from all medical issues.

Companion Animal Direct Adoption - Walk Ins
We also offer walk-in adoptions for our Veterans. Veterans can come in during normal adoption hours and find a companion animal of their choosing. After an adoption application is on file, our Adoption Counselors will work closely with our walk-in Veterans to help find the right companion for them while they are here in our facility. Veterans receive a 50% discount on adoptions every day. No maximum participant allowance. Please click on our Hours & Location for more information about our open adoption hours.
