About “Pennies for Paws” Spare Change Drive
Educating today’s youth about the humane treatment of animals is the link to our future in reducing the pet overpopulation and increasing the quality of pet care. And, teaching students the importance of being humane, environmentally conscious citizens is a worthwhile and rewarding task.
“Pennies for Paws” is an important youth-led program designed to bring Humane Education into school classrooms, while raising money for homeless animals. Join the Hinsdale Humane Society and area schools as we work together to help raise awareness of homeless pets, to educate hundreds of children, and to make a difference in our community.

Collect spare change for the Hinsdale Humane Society and your class could win GREAT PRIZES! Each participating classroom is entered into our drawing for cool, exciting prizes.
* The classroom that raises the most change will receive a “Pennies for Paws” trophy, a pizza party and tour of Hinsdale Humane Society.
* Every classroom that participates is entered into the “Pennies for Paws” prize drawing for a chance to win great prizes, including movie passes to York Theatre, Elmhurst.
* Every school receives a “Thank You” Certificates from Hinsdale Humane
Society .

Sign up your School for “Pennies for Paws”

To sign up your classroom, school, or group, simply download the "Pennies for Paw" 2010 Enrollment Form, complete and fax or mail. Or, contact Pam Salomone at 630-323-5630 x17 or email pam@hinsdalehumanesociety.org. Your classroom, school or group will then be included as a participant, entered in the prize drawing, and placed in the running for the prize trophy.

Cash in Your Coins!
Ready to cash in your coins? The best way to turn in your classroom donation is by taking the coins to a bank who can convert to a check. However, if you prefer, the Hinsdale Humane Society will be happy to take care your coin donation and report the totals to your classroom.
The Hinsdale Bank is our "Pennies for Paws" bank partner. They have a coin counting machine the "Coin King" that counts large amounts of coins, prints out a receipt, and then converts the coins to cash!
Your classroom can stop into Hinsdale Bank during regular business hours, no appointment necessary and no fee will be charged to convert your coins. Hinsdale Bank also has complimentary "Coin King" cups that kids can use for collecting coins. Hinsdale Bank is open Monday through Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm and on Saturdays, 8:30am - 2:00pm.
Feeling lucky?...you could win the "Hinsdale Bank Gift Basket" that includes a $100 savings bond and a webkinz pet & membership! Webkinz pets are lovable plush pets that each come with a unique Secret Code. "Pennies for Paws" Turn in Your Coins - Deadline, May 17th
The deadline to turn in your coins to The Hinsdale Humane Society is Monday, May 17th. Remember, you must have coins turned in by this date for your classroom to be eligible for the pizza party, trophy, and prizes!
