Breed Request E-mail Notification

Yearning for a Yorkie? Pining for a Persian?
The Hinsdale Humane Society offers a service to help you in your search for a canine or feline companion BY BREED - be it a purebred or a predominant mix.

How to use Breed Request E-mail Notification Service:

1. Search our Animals for Adoption on our website.

2. If you do not see the breed you are looking for, send an email to info@hinsdalehumanesociety.org with the following information:

  • Breed of dog or cat requested
  • Age preferred
  • Preferred sex of animal
  • Any other information that may be helpful in finding your new pet
  • Write “Breed Request" – (and the breed requested) in subject line of email. Example: "Breed Request - Dalmatian"
3. When a dog or cat comes in that matches your request, we will notify you via email.


Please note: Animals are adopted on a first come, first serve basis. Notification does not guarantee your adoption of the animal. After notification you will be required to come into the shelter to complete an Adoption Questionnaire and meet with a counselor who will help you decide if the animal you are interested in is a good choice for your lifestyle and home environment.

We will not be able to hold the animal for you over the telephone.

The Breed Request Notification Service is valid for 90 days. After 90 days, clients must re-submit their breed requests.

Please do not rely on our Breed Request E-mail Notification Service as your sole source for finding your new pet. We advise you to visit the Hinsdale Humane Society in person on a regular basis, or visit our website, Hinsdale Humane Society, or call 630-323-5630 to check on animal availability.
