Animal Request E-mail Notification Yearning for a Yorkie? Pining for a Persian?The Hinsdale Humane Society offers a service to help you in your search for a canine or feline companion, be it a purebred or a predominant mix, minimal-shedding dog, or a dog or cat approved for placement with young children.
How to use the Animal Request E-mail Notification Service:1. Search our Animals for Adoption on our website.2. If you do not see an animal that meets the qualities you are seeking, send an email to info@hinsdalehumanesociety.org with the following information:
- Breed of dog or cat requested (if known)
- Age preferred
- Preferred sex of animal
- Any other information that may be helpful in finding your new pet
- Write “Animal Request" – (and the breed or specific quality requested) in subject line of email. Example: "Animal Request - Dalmatian", "Minimal -shedder", or "Good with children", etc.
3. When a dog or cat becomes available that matches your request, we will notify you via email.
Please note: Animals are adopted on a first come, first serve basis. Notification does not guarantee your adoption of the animal. After notification you will be required to come into the shelter to complete an Adoption Questionnaire and meet with a counselor who will help you decide if the animal you are interested in is a good choice for your lifestyle and home environment.We will not be able to hold the animal for you over the telephone.The Animal Request Notification Service is valid for 90 days. After 90 days, clients must re-submit their animal requests.
